Pauline Rip (1995) is a French-Dutch artist and designer based in Rennes, Brussels and Rotterdam. Her work explores the intersection between narrative and materiality, offering a romantic vision of modernity. She combines craftsmanship, forgotten stories and irrational data, at the crossroads of object design, performance and scenography. 

She is the winner of the ‘COAL Special Jury Prize’ and the ‘DAE Maker Prize’, has been a resident at the Mediamatic Foundation Amsterdam and the Athéna Cultural Centre in Auray, and has/is exhibited/ing at venues such as the  Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature in Paris, Taiwan Design Museum, the Watermark Gallery (Seoul), Dutch Design Week (Eindhoven) and the Center for Book Arts (NYC) and has been featured in Dezeen, DAMN, Dazed and Coeval. 

She is co-creator of the design studio Dungeon & Design, whose philosophy focuses on the fictionalisation of interiors and ‘the preservation of an imaginary heritage’. 
She is part of the Paskamer collective, which focuses on scenography and curation in Rotterdam. 

She co-directs a master's class in design at LISAA Paris 13 and regularly lectures at European institutions such as the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Listaháskóli Íslands (Reykjavik).

She graduated from the master program ‘Contextual Design’ of the Design Academy of Eindhoven in 2021.
In 2019 she graduated from the bachelor program ‘DesignLAB’ at the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
In 2016 she graduated from the design program EESAB in France/Bretagne.
